About Us

We have a dedicated team of fully qualified staff providing constant, enthusiastic and professional care in a happy environment. Many of our staff team hold degrees in Early Year’s education or are working towards this. With internal staff training it ensures we are constantly striving to improve our knowledge.

We pride ourselves on our staff retention by ensuring that staff are valued and listened to and by encouraging staff to improve their own continuous professional development regarding children’s care.

We have positive relationships with parents. Parents are children’s first educators and we highly value parent’s views and they are considered with care and importance. We talk to parents every day. We want our parents to know all the wonderful things their child has experienced that day.

For our younger children we support the family by offering them a routine which parents request. This covers individual sleeping requirements. There is a separate sleep room to ensure that babies have the quiet peaceful time they need. We highly believe that nursery should be a home from home.

We follow the Early years foundation stage (EYFS) and plan a variety of enrichments each week for children to engage in. These include a cooking enrichment, mindfulness enrichment, forest school enrichment and many more. Children are born ready, able and eager to learn. Each child is unique and actively reaches out to the world to interact with other people and we provide children with opportunities which are full of variety and challenge. These are enhanced with extra curricula activities where specialist services come in to teach Music, Dancing, Sports and forest school sessions. Dedicated Educators inspire breathe life into activities and engage children into a fun world of learning in an inspirational way.

Parents are positively encouraged to be included in the nursery with ideas and consultations and the parent evening meetings are always well attended.

We offer parents workshops in all our age groups where parents get to stay and play once a term. We celebrate school leavers with graduation ceremonies and preschool also do a nativity play at Christmas. We are unique, fun and highly respected and hope that when new parents visit they are just as enthusiastic about it as we are.

Outdoor Learning

We do a huge amount of our learning outdoors in our gardens. We encourage children to access plenty of fresh air and have safe areas for the children to play and explore with age appropriate resources. We are working with a forest school practitioner who encourages children to discover and explore the wonders of nature.

We find minibeasts, build dens and follow trails.

Outdoor learning compliments the early year’s curriculum and encourages children to learn independence and social skills whilst engaging with nature. The first five years of a child’s development is crucial to their health, well being and overall trajectory of their lives in many ways. They are the foundation that shapes a child’s health, happiness and growth.

Organised outings are considered an important part of learning about nature and the environment. Parents are told in advance about any trips.

Policies and procedures

Parents are requested to read the policies and procedures which govern the way we run the nursery and explain the framework in which the children will be cared for before their child starts.

A positive learning climate is an environment that nurtures a love of learning - Carol B. Hillman
